Recent Career Event: Motivational Workshop
With Richard
Everhardt Groves, Jr.
November 13, 2003
Sixty-five people attended a stimulating motivational workshop featured by the Event
Planning committee. Richard Everhardt Groves,
Jr. talked about changing your perception in order to change your reality. Have a positive conversation with yourself. Negative conversations will prevent you from
moving forward and causes you to doubt your greatness.
Spend more time praising yourself, saying good things about your accomplishments
and efforts. When negative thoughts invade
you, put them aside as soon as you can. Refuse
to feel inadequate about what happened to you. When
things go wrong for you, focus on what went right for if you believe things will be hard
for you, they will be.When
you are job hunting, put on your resume you are self-employed. That
will fill in the gap of time you are out there. It
will impress people |

since starting your own business takes guts. Even if your job is to find a job, you are
self-employed. Show a company how you can add value to their bottom line.
Avoid fitting into a mold. Remember
his story about bringing a special dinner to
his wife at the office when she was continually working late. He had candles, good dishes and music besides
home-cooked food. He made all the husbands
jealous because they didnt think of getting off auto pilot and doing something
different.
And,
remember his story about Colonel Sanders who tried 1,000 times to sell his chicken recipe
but never gave up. Are you willing to sell
yourself to 1,000 people? Get out there! |
